Liverpool keeping close tabs on Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic

Liverpool are said to be keeping close tabs on Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic with Jurgen Klopp in dire need of a fresh face to add to his options in the centre of the park.

Thiago Alcantara’s hamstring issue against Fulham meant that the Spain international could be sidelined for up to six weeks as he joins the likes of Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the injury list for the Reds.

Despite Jurgen Klopp’s recent remarks suggesting he was not keen to move in for a new signing to bolster his ranks in the summer window, there is speculation that Inter’s Croatian international Brozovic is a name on the German’s shopping list.

According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool are open to making an approach for Brozovic’s signature with the Merseysiders understood to be ready to table a two-year deal for the 29-year-old with the option of a further year.

Brozovic had put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Inter earlier this year but his renewal is not expected to play spoilsport to Liverpool’s plans of bringing him to Anfield.
