Liverpool interested in signing Arsenal target Andreas Schjelderup

According to Calcimercato, Liverpool and Arsenal are among the teams keeping a close eye on the position of Nordsjaelland striker Andreas Schjelderup.

The 18-year-old, who had previously progressed through the Bodo/Glimt development programme, departed his native Norway in 2020 to sign with the Danish team.

After scoring eight goals in 11 games at the Under-19 level in 2020–21, Schjelderup was quickly promoted to the first team. At the senior level, he then scored three goals and assisted on three more.

The next season, he joined Nordsjaelland’s first team as a full-fledged player, appearing in 23 games across all competitions and contributing four goals.

Schjelderup has already appeared in 10 Superliga games this season, scoring five goals and assisting on one.
The attacker has already received two caps for Norway’s Under-21 team and has gained experience playing as a left flank and centre forward.

Calciomercatoweb asserts that various European teams are keeping an eye on his development in preparation for a potential swoop in the summer because his contract expires in 2024.

Schjelderup is being eyed as Norway’s “next Erling Haaland,” and Arsenal and Liverpool are among the suitors.

Sevilla, though, have already declared their interest in the 18-year-old, and it’s been reported that Los Palanganas have made a proposal of €4 million.

The La Liga team was promptly rejected by Nordsjaelland, who has significantly increased their asking price for Schjelderup and is now seeking a fee of €20 million to authorize a deal.
