Reds goalkeeper Alisson Becker has revealed that he is still looking to get better with his performances in the Premier League this season after arriving at Liverpool.
Following Loris Karius’ two massive blunders in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, it was quite certain that Liverpool was going to bring in a new goalkeeper to replace the German shot-stopper. And the Reds did so in some style, as they splashed out nearly €70 million on the services of Alisson Becker from AS Roma.
When Liverpool broke the bank for Alisson, there were rumors floating around that the 25-year-old was not worth the price tag and Liverpool spent way more than normal to secure a keeper. However, the Brazilian has fit in well at Anfield between the posts keeping the most number of clean sheets in the Premier League and helping the Reds to an unbeaten start this campaign and into 2nd position.
The Merseyside giants are in contention to win the Premier League title this term as they will give Manchester City a good run for their money. But Alisson has revealed something that he is still unsatisfied with, since moving to Anfield.
While speaking to RomaNews.eu the Liverpool star stated that he is happy at Liverpool but because of his price tag, fans expect a perfect goalkeeper, “My card has cost a lot of money and many fans expect a perfect goalkeeper, but it’s not easy. I cannot yet say I’m satisfied with my performance, but I work to make the most of and improve myself every day. I’m happy at Liverpool and I’m happy with my transfer to the Premier League.
Alisson added that he is focused and wants to win titles with Liverpool and the Brazilian team, “I’m focused on the work I have to do to help my club team and my national team, I want to achieve the goals we have both with the Reds and the Seleçao.”
Alisson has settled quite well to life at Liverpool and he has already shown that he is world class between the sticks. He can save Liverpool a lot of points this season and that makes the club more likely to win more trophies as well.
