Liverpool’s £62 million bid for Brighton star Moises Caicedo has reportedly been turned down amid rising interest in the midfield talent’s services from a host of Premier League bigwigs.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have long been on the lookout for a fresh pair of legs to reinforce their engine room and rumours had suggested that Caicedo was one of the names on Liverpool’s shopping list for the summer of 2023.
It has been evident that lack of quality in the Liverpool midfield department has resulted in inconsistent form this season despite Klopp’s men returning to top flight duty after the World Cup break in style with two wins in as many games.
According to a report from Caicedo’s homeland Ecuador ( via The Daily Express), it is claimed that the Reds have been rebuffed in their latest approach for the 21-year-old Brighton starlet who has emerged as a coveted name in the transfer market of late.
The 21-year-old Caicedo seen as one of the most promising names in English top flight football and Brighton have shown reluctance so far in giving their nod for his move elsewhere as they harbour hopes of securing European football for the first time in history.
