Former Tottenham Hotspur man Jamie O’Hara slammed Liverpool for their lack of activity on deadline day with the Reds choosing not to add to their squad.
Jurgen Klopp’s side, who have endured a horrid season so far and sit mid table in the Premier League standings, did not bring in any more players since they signed Dutch winger Cody Gakpo at the start of the January transfer window.
This has invited criticism from ex-Spurs midfielder O’Hara with the former Premier League star in his interview with Sky Sports ( via The Echo) claiming that he was expecting the Reds to sign a fresh pair of legs to strengthen Klopp’s roster.
“I mean look, they haven’t been good enough, anywhere near good enough this season – they look miles off the pace.
“I was expecting them to maybe go into this transfer window, bring in some reinforcements; centre-half, some midfielders, but they haven’t done it.”
Despite calls made from many sections to bolster a midfield that is in dire need of reinforcements, Liverpool went past the transfer deadline on Tuesday without making any fresh approaches for other targets on Klopp’s shopping list.
The likes of Borussia Dortmund maestro Jude Bellingham and Brighton starlet Moises Caicedo had been linked with a move to Anfield but both midfield talents would be staying put with their respective clubs until the end of the season.
