Luka Modric’s contract extension with Real Madrid could help Liverpool sign Jude Bellingham this summer from Borussia Dortmund, according to a report from the Spanish publication AS.
Bellingham is certain to spark off a transfer war in the summer with Europe’s biggest clubs likely to throw their hat in the ring to contest for his signature as he looks to leave Dortmund for a new challenge elsewhere.
Liverpool have been considered as the frontrunners to land the England international midfielder despite the possibility that Jurgen Klopp’s side could miss out on Champions League football next season.
European champions Real Madrid are also one of the contenders for Bellingham’s services but it is understood that with the veteran maestro Luka Modric deciding to stay with Madrid for a further year, the club is not expected to pursue Bellingham.
This turn of developments could aid Liverpool’s plans of making an approach to sign the sought after Dortmund talent who is sure to come for a big money fee ahead of the start of the new season.
