Liverpool were held to a frustrating goalless draw on their travels to Crystal Palace on Saturday in Premier League action at Selhurst Park.

It was a slow start to the game with either side unable to spring a threat in the final third though Mo Salah fired the first warning shot after Cody Gakpo teed up his strike partner.

Alisson Becker rushed out to force Palace forward Mateta into shooting wide on the other end of the pitch while Diogo Jota’s volleyed effort was held by Vicente Guaita.

Marc Guehi flashed a header past Alisson’s goal and Palace could have taken the lead before the break only for Mateta to hit the bar with his attempt.

Liverpool put out a strong display in the opening exchanges of the second period with Salah hitting the woodwork and Jota driving his effort over the bar.

Jurgen Klopp sought to freshen things up for his side with Brazil duo Roberto Firmino and Fabinho coming off the bench although the game had little to offer for Liverpool.

The Reds could not find the desired break to open the scoring and Palace were unlucky in their own endeavors to secure a win on home turf.
