Liverpool to face intense competition to sign centre-back Evan Ndicka

Liverpool are expected to face intense competition to sign centre-back Evan Ndicka this summer with the defender wanted by top clubs across Europe.

The Eintracht Frankfurt central defender has communicated to the club that he will not extend his contract which is up for renewal at the end of the season as he wants to explore a new challenge.

According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, it is claimed that Liverpool have positioned themselves as strong contenders to land the 23-year-old Ndicka with Barcelona not willing to get into a transfer battle with the Reds.

Liverpool, however, are unlikely to get a free run at the Bosman signing of the Bundesliga talent Ndicka who has the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan pursuing him ahead of the summer window.

Jurgen Klopp could be in the market for a new centre-back as Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have all failed to convince the manager with their displays to cement a regular berth on the team sheet.
