Liverpool enter talks to sign Sporting CP center-back Goncalo Inacio

According to the Daily Express, Premier League giants Liverpool are interested in signing Sporting CP center-back Goncalo Inacio this summer.

Many major European clubs want to sign the 21-year-old center-back as he is one of the finest defenders in the Portuguese league.

Inacio joined Sporting CP in the summer of 2012. He has advanced through the club’s ranks and become a regular in their first team. Inacio has been performing well for the Portuguese team for almost three years at this point.

His solid play for Sporting has garnered a lot of interest. In order to extend his stay at the club, the Portuguese club has already granted him a new deal with higher pay.

But it seems that the player will most certainly leave the team in the summer. Sporting has set a price of €45 million on their star defender because they are fully aware of the circumstance.

Paris Saint-Germain is one of the teams that is interested in adding him to their roster. In the forthcoming transfer window, the French club hopes to make some significant changes in the squad.

Luis Campos is eager to have Inacio in his team. But according to reports, Liverpool are already leading the race. The Merseyside club and the Portuguese team have already begun negotiations for the 21-year-old defender.

Liverpool’s summer transfer window will be extremely busy as they try to reshape the squad. The current season has been difficult for Jurgen Klopp’s team, and they are ready to strengthen their lineup for the upcoming campaign.

However, they are also seeking for a left-sided center-back to team up with Virgil van Dijk. Their top objective is to sign several midfielders.

Joe Gomez hasn’t played well this season, therefore Klopp wants to have a strong backup option in his lineup. It will be intriguing to see if Liverpool can sign the Portugal international in the summer given that negotiations have already begun.
