Liverpool will be hosting Napoli on Tuesday night with their hopes of qualifying in the Champions League resting on the encounter at Anfield, this means that Jurgen Klopp will have to choose his team wisely.
After trashing Bournemouth 4-0 in the Premier League on the weekend, Liverpool climbed to the top of the table in England’s top division. However, the Merseyside outfit will now focus all their attention towards the Champions League where a crunch encounter against Serie A giants Napoli on Tuesday will be a must-win game for the Reds.
Although a 1-0 victory will be enough for Liverpool against the Italian side – however, if Napoli manages to score, Liverpool will have to win the game by two clear goals in order to progress through to the Round Of 16. Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has plenty to think about regarding who will start the game against the Partenopei considering another massive clash against Manchester United waits at Anfield five days later.
It seems likely that the back line consisting of Alisson Becker, Andrew Robertson, and Virgil Van Dijk will surely start unless they face injuries. Similarly, the midfield trio of Fabinho, Naby Keita and Georginio Wijnaldum looked as balanced as ever against Bournemouth. Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino also seem to have cemented their place in the starting eleven with impressive link-up play between the two of the forwards.
However, James Milner at right-back could be replaced by fellow Englishman Trent Alexander Arnold and Joel Matip could make way for Dejan Lovren if the Croatian is fit for the game. Xherdan Shaqiri has been impressive for Liverpool but could take his place on the bench as Sadio Mane seems to have recovered from a foot injury last week.
