Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven has openly expressed his interest in joining Liverpool and stated that he would be open to accepting a good proposal.
The 21-year-old has garnered attention from the Premier League giants having played a crucial role for Wolfsburg this season with over 30 appearances.
While the player is currently focused on his duties with the Dutch U21 team for the upcoming Euros, speculation surrounding a potential move to Anfield continues to grow.
Liverpool’s recent appointment of Jorg Schmadtke as a sporting director has sparked rumours of a potential move for Van de Ven. Schmadtke, who previously signed the Dutch starlet during his time at Wolfsburg, could be interested in bringing him to Merseyside.
Despite the Red’s already solid defensive options, Van de Ven’s versatility and ability to play across the back four would provide further depth. With Joel Matip and Joe Gomez dealing with injury concerns, Van de Ven’s presence would be valuable alongside Virgil van Dijk.

The 22-year-old is aware of the speculation surrounding his future and acknowledges Wolfsburg’s reputation for nurturing talent. However, he is content to remain in Germany for another season. As reported by the Mirror, he said:
“Of course, I heard of Liverpool links and I know they’ve been following me in the past. That’s it. Of course. Liverpool is a great club. There’s a chance for me to leave this summer. If a nice club with a good plan arrives… I’d be open.”
“Of course, I read everything. I have good contact with my agent, so I know what’s going on. I’ll see where it will lead. Hopefully, (a big transfer after the Euros) would be nice. The Premier League? Maybe, yes. Who knows. I am very good at Wolfsburg, so I don’t mind staying at Wolfsburg for another year.”
Liverpool has made their first summer signing by bringing in Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton to strengthen their midfield. However, the Reds are not stopping there and have their sights set on additional arrivals.
Two players on their radar are Moises Caicedo and Mason Mount. Despite missing out on Champions League qualification, Liverpool remains confident that it won’t hinder their ability to attract top talent.
