Liverpool have entered the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Mario Lemina this summer, as Jurgen Klopp seeks to strengthen his midfield unit, as per the Sun.
Liverpool are currently in urgent need of a defensive midfielder, especially after the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, who moved to the Saudi Pro League last month.
Additionally, the Reds have lost Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose contracts expired in June.
While the club has made midfield additions in the form of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai this summer, Klopp aims to bring in at least two more players to Anfield in the upcoming weeks.
The Reds had pursued Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia but missed out on both players to Chelsea.

Consequently, Klopp has shifted his focus to alternative targets, and the Reds are reportedly close to finalizing a £15 million deal for Stuttgart captain Wataru Endo.
Nevertheless, the manager is eager to further reinforce his midfield before the end of the summer transfer window, and Mario Lemina has emerged as a potential option for the Liverpool manager.
The club is closely monitoring his situation. However, they will face competition from at least four other Premier League clubs who are also interested in the 29-year-old.
Lemina made the move to Molineux Stadium from Ligue 1 side Nice in January and made 20 appearances, contributing one assist across all competitions. He played a pivotal role in helping Wolves avoid relegation, finishing 13th with 41 points.

Lemina has had a diverse playing career, featuring for clubs like Southampton, Olympique de Marseille, Juventus, Fulham, Galatasaray, and Lorient.
He recently played for Wolves in their 2023-24 Premier League opener against Man United, delivering an impressive performance in their 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
Transfermarkt values Lemina at just £9 million, making him a potentially cheaper signing for Liverpool if a deal can be negotiated.
However, with two years left on his contract, Wolves may be reluctant to sell unless an attractive offer is presented.
