Liverpool staged a remarkable comeback against Championship side Leicester City, securing their spot in the Carabao Cup fourth round.
After Kasey McAteer gave Enzo Maresca’s team an early lead within three minutes, Liverpool responded with second-half goals from Cody Gakpo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Diogo Jota.
Liverpool, known for their comeback wins, entered the match with a six-match winning streak, including a 3-1 victory over West Ham United in their previous game. While Leicester were also in good form with a three-match winning streak, their early lead was unexpected.
In the opening three minutes, Klopp’s side faced an early setback when Yunus Akgun assisted an unmarked Kasey McAteer, who calmly scored into the bottom left corner.

Despite this, the Reds known for their ability to stage comebacks, remained composed and started to assert themselves in search of an equalizer.
However, Leicester’s resolute defence held firm in the first half, even though Liverpool came close to scoring when Cody Gakpo had a header cleared off the line in the 22nd minute. Liverpool controlled the game, registering 15 shots and creating two significant scoring opportunities in the opening 45 minutes.
Leicester managed to withstand a relentless onslaught of Liverpool’s attacks and maintained their lead as the first half came to an end.
However, their resilient defence began to crumble in the second half, and Cody Gakpo brought the Anfield side back on level terms just three minutes after the break.
Ryan Gravenberch, who has been impressing in a Liverpool jersey this season, delivered an exquisite pass to set up Cody Gakpo, and the Dutch player finished the job by firing the ball into the bottom corner.
