Salah Handed Extended Recovery Break By Klopp

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly granted Mohamed Salah an extended break following Egypt’s elimination from the AFCON earlier this week.

Salah was not able to hit the same heights that he hit this term after a spectacular debut season but the 27-year-old forward won the Champions League title with the Merseyside club and scored a penalty in the final as well.

Following the success in the continental stages, Salah had to take part in the African Cup of Nations with his home side Egypt this summer. But after the backing to make it all the way to the finals of the competition the host nation were shockingly eliminated by South Africa in the quarter-finals stages of the tournament.

Salah was left in tears after the Pharos’s crashed out of the AFCON but Egypt’s loss is Liverpool’s gain as the star winger will return back to Anfield fit and hungry for more.

But it could be a while before Salah returns back to action for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool because the club is will to offer him a break to miss six games. Some of the Liverpool stars returned back to Melwood for the preseason training but Salah will not play any major part in the first few trips of the preseason tour.

Salah’s break means that he will miss the clashes against Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City in the UK, Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Sporting Lisbon in the USA, and Napoli in Edinburgh including the trip to the USA.

However, Salah is set to return to Klopp’s squad for the final part of the preseason training in France when Liverpool will face Lyon in Geneva.
