According to the latest reports, Liverpool are prepared to make Mohamed Salah their highest paid player at the club by offering him a new deal when he returns to preseason training.
Since arriving at Liverpool back in the summer of 2017 from Serie A club AS Roma in a £37 million deal the Egyptian winger has been tearing up record books at Anfield. Salah scored 44 goals in his first season with Liverpool helping them to the final of the Champions League but could not take them to glory the last term.
However, this season Salah did manage to win the European Cup for Liverpool and he almost led the club to a Premier League title. The 27-year-old has won back to back Golden Boots finishing as top scorer in the Premier League twice over the last two seasons. His impressive performances have caught the eye of several other top rival European clubs in the continent and Liverpool are keen on tying Salah down at Merseyside for a long time.
Salah signed a contract extension only last summer which keeps him at Liverpool until 2023 but following stunning performances last season, Liverpool wants to make Salah the best-paid player at the club by offering him another deal which keeps him at the club for another season. If Salah signs his contract extension, it’s reported that he could become the best-paid player in the entire English Premier League.
The star forward became the fastest player to reach 50 goals for Liverpool and looks set to break more records in the upcoming few seasons for the Reds if he keeps up his incredible form.
