From Spanish media reports, it appears that Liverpool’s striker Darwín Núñez is close to involve in a possible move to Barcelona, considering the uncertainty about his future in the club. The Uruguayan striker aged 24, recent weeks has been linked to the removal of Liverpool-related profiles from his social networks.
Núñez, who featured for Liverpool in their game against Tottenham Hotspur where they ended on a high note, has been through a frustrating time without any goal contribution in his recent matches, and the game has been noted to be the eighth in his goalless spell.
After the match , even more rumours were confirmed and the speculation suddenly went up on Núñez’s personal Instigram account which went through a change where all the other uploaded pictures were deleted except for one with him in a Liverpool shirt.
Liverpool’s content has been deleted, tended to the Barcelona rumors which said that the giant of the La Liga was interested in Núñez as option of replacement of the veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.
Barcelona’s interest in Núñez is not a new thing, and in 2020 Barcelona tried to sign Nunez when he was at UD Almeira at that period. At that time, Núñez was supposed to have given his approval that he will join with Barcelona.

But the move did not take place eventually and instead, Núñez joined Benfica.
He later went to Liverpool for a reported transfer fee of approximately £73m in 2022. Although Barcelona offered Núñez a more lucrative deal, the former coach Ronald Koeman was highly not impressed, causing the move to Benfica.
While it was widely believed that Núñez’s time at the club was over, the Catalan club have recently shown interest in him, with him reportedly willing to come back to the Camp Nou and wear the Barcelona shirt.

The striker is highly aware of Barcelona’s desire to sign him, since he was almost joining Barcelona some seasons ago.
