Dejan Lovren Wants Out Of Liverpool

The latest reports have claimed that Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is keen on making a move away from the club this summer transfer window before the European window shuts on September 2nd.

Lovren has fallen further down the pecking order as Virgil Van Dijk’s center back partner. The Croatian was initially Jurgen Klopp’s first choice during the early stages of his regime but Lovren with Joel Matip and Joe Gomez putting in commanding shifts in the heart of the Liverpool defense, Lovren has been pushed to a fourth choice at Anfield.

Lovren has the ability to make errors on a regular basis and has put Liverpool in tough situations over the past few seasons while Gomez and Matip have shown a considerable trend of improvement. In fact, Lovren has not started a game for Liverpool when Matip and Gomez are fit and in top form.

With Lovren lacking regular football, the 30-year-old center-back is now linked with a move away from Anfield as with a few clubs across the European continent looking to snap up a deal for the Liverpool defender. Serie A duo of AS Roma and AC Milan along with Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen have shown an interest in signing Lovren before the close of the European transfer window.

Lovren arrived at Liverpool back in the summer of 2014 for a massive €20 million deal from South coast club Southampton but the center back has failed to establish himself on the team and his errors have cost Liverpool dear over the past few years.

The Croatian is now demanding an improved contract at Liverpool and better wages to force a move away from Liverpool in the summer. Leverkusen is open to a season-long loan deal for Lovren but the center back is not willing to take a hit on his salary as well as he currently earns around €9 million a year.
