The Liverpool boss stated that Sadio Mane’s anger on the Liverpool bench was due to the selfishness of Mohamed Salah when the Egyptian did not pass the ball in a goalscoring situation.
Liverpool cruised back to the summit of the Premier League table after a 3-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday and recorded a staggering 14 consecutive wins for the club for the first time in the history of the top flight. All seems to be going well for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they have now won four out of four games in the Premier League and are the only team to keep their 100 percent record intact.
But despite everything going well for Liverpool, his players are not exactly on great terms on the pitch even though they are banging in goals for fun. The Merseyside giants were cruising to victory at 3-0 against Burnley when an incident involving Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane caught the eye of spectators.
The Senegalese forward made some animated gestures on the bench just after being substituted after an incident with Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian international did not play a simple pass to Mane who was in space which could have increased Liverpool’s lead and instead tried to go for goal himself by taking on the Burnley defense.
James Milner, Joe Gomez, and even club captain Jordan Henderson tried to calm down the 27-year-old on the bench who seemed furious with his teammate Salah. And Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has now admitted that Mane was angry at Salah but everything has been sorted out now.
The 52-year-old German said, “He was upset, that was obvious. Sadio cannot hide his emotions and I like that. It’s all sorted. We spoke about it and everything is fine. We are individuals, we are emotional. It was a situation in the game he wasn’t happy about — that’s completely fine. Would he do it in exactly the same manner again? Probably not, but it happens. Nothing happened, he didn’t say any wrong words.”
