Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has explained that there will be no lasting repercussions between African superstars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane after their incident at Turf Moor in a 3-0 win against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
It was all smooth sailing for Liverpool against Sean Dyche’s men this weekend as they returned to the top of the Premier League table creating a club record of 14 straight wins in the English top flight. The Reds also maintained their 100 percent start to the Premier League by winning all four of their games racking up 12 points.
However, there was an incident at Turf Moor which caught the eye of spectators that worried Liverpool fans when Sadio Mane was substituted just moments after being livid with his teammate Mohamed Salah.
The 26-year-old Senegalese forward was furious with Salah who did not pass him the ball when Mane was in a goalscoring position. Mane was then calmed down by his teammates in the dugout as he was visibly animated but club captain Jordan Henderson has stated that there is nothing to worry about between the pair of attackers.
While speaking to reporters, the 29-year-old Englishman explained, “I’ve seen it now and again. Sadio is fine, he’s a great lad. That’s just us pushing each other all the time. I think that’s important. We all want to do better, we all want to improve, but we’re really close and I think we can deal with that. I’m not sure [what set him off] to be honest. I couldn’t really understand at first, but then when he came in, he was laughing and joking. The most important thing was we got the result, Sadio knows that. He performed really well again. Him and Bobby [Roberto Firmino] were a really big second ball. He had a fantastic game. As I said, we want to push each other. We want to improve all the time, I quite like that now and again. I think we need it”
