Liverpool is reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen and Germany wonder-kid Kai Havertz next summer. Bayer Munich is front runners to sign the youngster but Havertz might be tempted to play under Liverpool’s German boss Jurgen Klopp.
Kai Havertz is currently on international duty with Germany and will most likely play in Germany’s European Championship qualifier against Holland.
The 20-year-old has hinted that he might leave Bayer Leverkusen next summer, he said in an interview
“They [Bayern] haven’t scared me off.
“I don’t know exactly what it was like with Timo [Werner], but it just didn’t happen for me this year. I think there were a number of reasons why.
“But I’m happy to be here and stay in Leverkusen for another year. We’ll see what will happen next summer.”
Recently a Liverpool fan site urged the club to sell Mo Salah and replace him with Kai Havertz
Rousing The Kop writer Brendan Hodrien explained: “With Michael Edwards heading up the best recruitment team in Europe, Liverpool should sell Mo Salah and go after the phenomenon Kai Havertz in 2020.
“Salah is one of the most valuable players on the planet, his ability is worth vast amounts but so is his marketability.
“During the 2018 World Cup, Salah was the most talked about player in the MENA region – the world’s fastest-growing football market.
“Liverpool have proved in recent years that they can replace superstars when offered silly money for them.
“A case in point was using the Coutinho money to buy Alisson and Virgil Van Dijk, assembling the best defense in the world.
“Liverpool should sell Salah and spend half the money on Havertz. The Bayer Leverkusen wonder-kid bagged 17 goals and three assists last season, only turning 20 over the summer.”
