Jamie Carragher Has A Warning For Liverpool

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has urged Liverpool fans not to get carried away after Machester City suffered a shock 3-2 defeat against newly-promoted side Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Manchester City looked vulnerable in defense with Aymeric Laporte out injured but Carragher insists that Manchester City are still the best team in Europe.

“I think City are the best team in Europe and LFC a very close second!” He wrote on Twitter after the match.

“Winning the Champions League doesn’t mean you are the best team in Europe as it’s a cup competition and there is no way we were the best team in 2005!”

Liverpool is sitting on the top of the Premier League, five points ahead of defending champions Manchester City and are the only unbeaten team and the only team with a 100% record in the Premier League.

Liverpool was given a scare when Newcastle United took the lead early in the second half but bounced back with two goals from Sadio Mane and a goal from Mo Salah to win u and have now won 15 games in a row which stretches back to last season.

Manchester City meanwhile lost their first Premier League game since late January and Pep Guardiola will be under pressure to sort out the defense with John Stones and Otamendi looking shaky as a partnership.

Manchester City travels to play Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League while Liverpool travels to play Serie A side Napoli midweek.
