Liverpool midfielder has been hailed as ‘perfect’ by his Liverpool teammate Jordan Henderson after his impressive performance in the 2-1 victory over Spurs on Sunday.
Henderson went on to say that Fabinho has cemented himself as a starter leaving him and his other teammates to now battling for the remaining places.
The Brazilian has made the deep-lying midfielder position his own partly thanks to a move by Henderson, to a more advanced position in the midfield. Henderson had previously been Klopp’s go-to player in the deep-lying role, but given the quality of Fabinho’s displays in the previous year, he was moved to a different position.
And Henderson has no qualms about Fabinho taking his position
‘Fab has been excellent. Another good performance from him [vs Tottenham], (he’s) so good in that position,‘ said Henderson.
‘I’ve played in that position for a while and it is a tough position. He’s perfect for it; he reads the game so well and breaks the play up and starts attacks off.
‘He’s a fantastic player and he’s in great form and hopefully, that can continue.’
‘We have got a lot of good midfielders and we’ve got different players that can do different things,’ Henderson added.
‘I suppose that’s good for the manager because it’ll depend on certain games and certain teams that we’re playing and who fits that particular game.
Fabinho made four tackles, three interceptions, two key passes, 11 ball recoveries, and 111 total touches as he was praised by fans for his performance against Spurs.
