Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been hailed as the world’s best coach by Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch, whose side are preparing to face the Merseyside giants in a crunch Champions League clash on Tuesday night.
The Reds currently hold an eight-point lead at the summit of the Premier League table after 15 games played, having missed out on the title by just one solitary point last season.
That disappointment finishing runners up to the title was somewhat made up for by victory in the Champions League, as the Reds claimed their record sixth prestigious European trophy.
However, there is a chance that Liverpool could miss out on the last 16 of this season’s competition if they slip to a defeat against their Austrian opponents Salzburg who have impressed heavily in Group E with Erling Braut Haaland leading their attack.
And former United States midfielder Jesse Marsch, who was an assistant coach at Red Bull Leipzig last term following coaching spells in MLS, took over at Austrian champions Salzburg in June this year.
Salzburg is currently leading the way in the Austrian Bundesliga, but Marsch has lauded Klopp as world football’s leading coach as his team prepares to welcome the holders of the Champions League.
While speaking to reporters, Marsch spoke highly of the 52-year-old Klopp, “Jurgen Klopp is probably the best coach in the world right now, I think you can fairly say that from the way his team is performing and the history he has in the game, and the way that he’s had success in Germany and England.
Liverpool is currently leading the way in the English Premier League as they try to end their 30-year long quest for a Premier League title.
