Liverpool continues its impressive run in the season as they ensure a 3-2 victory over West Ham United. The goals came late though as West Ham proved a hard nut to crack at Anfield.
The home side took the lead through Dutch star Georginio Wijnaldum but David Moyes and his wards have other plans in the game. The match was an intriguing contest as we enjoyed quality at both ends of the pitch.
Following the dramatic encounter between both sides Liverpool and West Ham United, we evaluate the three possible lessons we learned from the Anfield game on Monday Night.
West Ham Scared Liverpool
The visitor produced a frenetic contest away from home as David Moyes men aimed to shock the Reds at home.
Though Liverpool took an early lead in the 9th minute. West Ham wasted no time as they equalized 3 minutes later to level the match at 1-1. It looked like a joke but it became severe when Pablo Fornals scored to make it 1-2 away at Anfield.
This caused a scare in the heart of the Liverpool hopeful as they looked to keep the unbeaten run still on-going in the season. This was resolved as they got two goals to secure the win with the chance to emulate Arsenal’s invincible sect this term still intact.
Valentine Arrears For Salah
The West Ham goalkeeper played a part in getting the opposition back on track as Liverpool drew level in the 68th minute.
The Reds went in search of an equalizer with Andrew Robertson making an incisive overlapping run on the left-wing. This saw him pick out Salah in the box with Egyptian strike helped into the net by Lukasz Fabianski poor catch.
The ball slipped through his hand and into the net as Lukasz flopped knowing he would have done better to preserve his side’s lead in the game. In the end, it turned to be a gift for Salah as Fabianski voluntarily offered the Egyptian valentine arrears as this proved to be the tonic the Reds need to galvanize the win in the game.
Mane Delivers For Liverpool
The Senegalese forward was key to his side yet for another week as he signaled his relevance to Jürgen Klopp’s side with the winner against Norwich.
Sadio’s goals were the match decider as it proved to be the difference when the Reds played Norwich at the Carrow Road. With the match tied 2-2 at Anfield, Mane scored to seal the Liverpool win for the second game running.
This will delight manager Jürgen Klopp as he was embracing forward Roberto Firmino at the end of the match as Mane’s goals mattered most in securing the victory over West Ham United.
