The reigning European Champions could not have a single shot on target at the Wanda Metropolitan Stadium but has been doing well in front of their home fans. Atletico on their own part have just won one of their last 13 away games.

Here Liverpoolcore.com predicts how Liverpool could line-up against Diego Simeon Atletico Madrid side.
Out: Alisson Becker (hip), Xherdanshagiri (calf) Nathaniel Clyne (knee).
Doubtful: Jordan Henderson (hamistring), Andrew Robertson (knocks).
Liverpool would be without first choice goalie Alisson Becker ahead of the Anfield’ show down with the shot stopper picking up a little muscle strain in training. This was the reason why he missed the weekend’s win over Eddie House’s AFC Bournemouth. The goalkeeper could be sidelined until after the international break but the good news is that defender Andrew Robertson and Captain Jordan Henderson should be available for the Atletico clash pending with them recovering in time. Andy Robertson was a shock absence from the weekend game as he picked up a little injury issue in training.
Henderson has been absent in Liverpool last four games after limping off with an injury in the first leg with Atletico Madrid. The skipper is now backing action as he is expected to find his way back into the starting team (XI) provided he’s passed match fit. This will see Alex Oxlade. Chamberlain or Veteran and versatile midfield player James Milner expected to make way for the aforementioned duo.
This could see Jurgen Klopp Liverpool line-up with what could be seen as a full strength sides though this may be in the exclusion of the injured Alisson as Adrian would be in goal being the only change from the Reds side in the first leg.
Liverpool’s hopes would as usual probably rest on the African Liverpool pair Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. The both players was on target at the weekend helping the Reds to a 2-1 win at Aufield against AFC Bournemouth.
Salah was on hand to mark his 100th Premier League appearance for Liverpool with his 70 goals. This have seen the Egyptian set an impressive record at the club (Liverpool) which is good for his reputation as we’ve seen with a couple of personal accolades he has won in recent times. He is the first Liverpool player to score 20 goals in all competitions spanning over three seasons since the exit of Michael Owen. Omen managed the feat from year 2000 – 2003. The third person in the attack certainly is Brazil’s Roberto Firmino, as he continue his quest for a first goal at Anfield in the campaign.
What a tune to get it if it comes against Atletico Madrid in a game of this magnitude and technical significance.
