Ferran Torres ‘Fits Klopp’s System’ Says Transfer chief

Ferran Torres is currently being monitored by some of the top clubs in the European continent and could well be on the move from Valencia when the summer window opens.

Former Valencia sporting director Fernando Gomez claimed that young attacker Ferran Torres has all the attributes to be a successful player at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp’s system at Liverpool deemed as a perfect fit for the winger.

Torres has enjoyed a stellar rise to prominence since graduating to Valencia’s senior squad back in 2017 as the 20-year-old racked up 89 appearances across all competitions for the Spanish club over the past three years, scoring nine goals, as well as establishing himself as a consistent performer in the Spanish top flight.

Valencia’s 2019-20 campaign has been quite sporadic, to say the least, but Torres’s displays have attracted a number of high-profile potential suitors in Europe.

According to the latest reports Premier League leaders Liverpool have made an enquiry about the availability of the Spain U21 international.

Following the reports of Liverpool asking for Torres, Gomez is certain that the young midfielder is capable of playing his football in the English top division, believing that Klopp’s Reds would be an ideal fit for the youngster.

While speaking to reporters, the former Valencia head explained the superlative characteristics of Torres, “Ferran Torres is a great player. He has emerged very young and that is proof of his maturity, He’s skilful, he’s great one-on-one, he’s quick and he even scores goals. He also plays on the inside, takes advantage of spaces and can be part of a team that plays on the counter-attack or a dominant team in terms of possession.”

Gomez also claimed that Torres can perform in almost any league and Liverpool would be a great fit, “He can perform well in any team and in any league. In England too, of course, at Liverpool or any other team. Klopp’s system fits him and he is mentally very strong to cope with pressure and demands.”
