Manchester City star Rodri Hernandez has hailed the incredible season Liverpool have put together this term, saying the only thing he can do is clap for Jurgen Klopp’s unit.
The Reds have built a massive 25-point advantage over 2nd placed Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League table, with Liverpool winning 25 of their 27 matches in the Premier League 2019-20 season thus far.
The English top-flight is aiming for a return in June under the recently initiated “Project Restart” and the Reds remain just two wins away from their first top division title since 30 years.
Although Manchester City’s title defence is set to end meekly, Spanish midfielder Rodri has stated that he is still proud of his side’s campaign thus far, claiming that Liverpool were simply on another level in the 2019-20 season.
While speaking to Sky Sports News the 23-year-old showered praise on Liverpool and how they have been amazing this year that the only thing an opponent can do is ‘clap’, “Sometimes football is like this, Liverpool have been amazing this season in the Premier League. They have focused their entire mentality on the Premier League only and in these situations the only thing you can do is clap. But we’ve had many problems this year. We have had lots of injuries and important players out but it’s not been a bad season for us – we’re second.”
