Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Kosovo international winger Milot Rashica, according to the president of the country’s football federation (FFK).
Liverpool are eyeing to sign the Werder Bremen winger, Milot Rashica in the upcoming Summer transfer window and the club is presented with a great chance to snap him up in a cut-price deal due to the imminent return of the Bundesliga after the Lockdown which eventually results in the relegation of Rashica and his club Werder Bremen in the middle of June at the end of this season’s campaign.
Bremen are currently placed at 17th position in the Bundesliga points table just four points ahead of the relegation play-offs. If the club fails to qualify for the top tier German league next season, then the release clause of the wide player might drop down drastically to £13 million from his current release clause worth £33 million.
The FFK president, Agim Amedi told Syri TV recently:“There are many requests for him. I know that Liverpool in the Premier League want him, but also Leipzig in the Bundesliga and I am sure that he will be advised in the best way to make his decision.”
It is widely speculated among various media sources all across the Europe that many clubs other than Liverpool have expressed their interest for the Werder winger including the Premier League club Southampton and some of the Bundesliga clubs like RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich.
Playing mainly on the left flank or behind the striker, the 23-year-old has scored 10 goals in all competitions for Werder Bremen this season. Overall, Rashica has scored 23 goals in 64 games for Bremen since his transfer from Eredivisie side Vitesse on the deadline day of January 2018 transfer window.
He has also played 27 times for Kosovo, which was recognized as an UEFA member in 2016.
Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool management are considering Milot Rashica’s transfer as a backup deal if the widely rumored Timo Werner’s transfer deal falls apart later during the upcoming transfer season.
Despite their interest in both the players, Liverpool will likely be waiting to see the full financial ramifications of the coronavirus crisis before making any further moves in the transfer market.
Rashica is considered by Jurgen Klopp as a replacement for Xherdan Shaqiri, providing backup to his incredible front three comprising of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
While Klopp is a fan of Shaqiri, the Swiss international has never managed to break that trio’s grip on the starting XI, and his brother and agent recently sparked speculation by claiming Liverpool should expect “many offers” for him when the transfer window reopens.
With Shaqiri widely reported to be on the verge of leaving Anfield, Rashica could be an affordable replacement for the Reds. The inclusion of the left winger might provide Jurgen Klopp with lot more options in the attacking ability of his squad which boosts with the likes of newly signed Takumi Minimino and many other talented academy youth players.
The tenacious as well as technically gifted forward looks like a perfect match for the Klopp’s playing style and he has plenty of time on his side when it comes to working his way up the ranks into the Liverpool’s starting line-up as he is only 23 years old.
