Liverpool Could Move for Erling Haaland in the summer

According to Liverpool legend Steve Nico, the Reds must be in the mix when Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland decides to make another move in the near future, however, he is bound to be couped up by a big club.

Erling Haaland was at his goalscoring best when the Bundesliga returned on May 16 and led Borussia Dortmund to a comfortable 4-0 win against Schalke. The 19-year-old forward has created a real buzz around him with a number of top clubs keeping a tab in his developments at the Westfalenstadion.

It seems as if the young Norwegian has an eye for goal and his predatory instinct has already grabbed Haaland 41 goals across the 2019-20 season for Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg combined.

European titans Real Madrid are keen on luring Haaland to the Santiago Bernabeu and there has also been interest from Premier League side Man United, who were linked with a move for Haaland before the teenager joined Dortmund in January.

However, ex-Liverpool star Steve Nicol has urged Jurgen Klopp to line up a move for Haaland in the summer if the sensation decides to leave the Bundesliga outfit.

While speaking to ESPN, the Scotsman revealed that Liverpool must be at the top of their game if they want Haaland at Anfield, “In five years time we don’t know who is going to be top of the tree. Whoever it is, that’s the move for him because what he has shown us up until now is he looks like the real deal. He is like the heir to the throne of the best forward in the world and that means you play for the best team. Hopefully, it is Liverpool in four or five years, I don’t know if they can sustain what they are doing now. He will go to the very top team.”
