Liverpool’s club captain Jordan Henderson remains confident the Premier League champions-elect would be ready to hit the ground running and finish the season on a high once the Premier League camping returns when they return to action.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds remain a staggering 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League table and in line to win their first Premier League title in three decades. The celebrations at Liverpool have been cut short though, due to the coronavirus outbreak in the UK which has suspended the top tier since early March.
Most recently, Liverpool have returned to training ahead of the potential restart of the Premier League. The Reds require just two more wins away from being crowned Premier League champions and the resumption of football is expected in June.
As glory awaits the Liverpool stars, 29-year-old Jordan Henderson explained the reason why the Reds won’t be losing any of their focus while returning to football.
Following a training session with a small group of his teammates, the English midfielder said that Liverpool will not be slacking off even if it means getting up to general fitness, “You need to keep the fitness levels as high as you can, and we were given a programme from the club to do, which was really helpful for us to try to keep some sort of general fitness up so when we do come back in we’re at a good enough level to start doing the twisting and turning, the longer passing back into it.”

With Project Restart, the UK government have planned for the resumption of football on June 12 with a gruelling four-week schedule of fixtures to complete the remaining games of the season.
