Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that the question does not faze him as to where the Reds would lift the much-awaited Premier League trophy. Klopp said that securing the title at any other place other than Anfield, the home stadium of Liverpool FC, would not serve as a detraction from the Red’s achievements this season. Insisting that he’s not at all bothered by the possible scenario of not lifting the Premier League title in front of the Red’s supporters at Anfield, the German stated that it would be an ‘absolutely exceptional day’ regardless.
According to the latest official announcement, the current Premier League season will resume on 17th June. The resumption of the English top-flight football league comes three months after it was suspended due to the massive outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. At the time of the league’s suspension, the Reds had needed only two wins in their remaining nine matches to secure a first Premier League title for the club, an achievement which the loyal fan base of Liverpool FC has been waiting for 30 long years.
However, even with the restart of the Premier League, the police have put forward a request for six out of the remaining 92 Premier League matches to be played at neutral grounds. One of the six matches includes the game in which Liverpool FC can secure the title. Richard Masters, the chief executive of the Premier League, revealed on Friday that a decision regarding where Liverpool FC would play their remaining matches is expected to be finalized by the end of the week.
Amidst the decision involving the Red’s plans for their remaining Premier League games, Klopp is believed to be convinced that his club will not have to lift their Premier League title on any other ground than Anfield.
However, if that is not the case, the German coach will be more than happy to win the club’s first Premier League title in 30 years on the football pitch. Rules regarding social distancing remain in place in the United Kingdom, and Klopp was quick to stress the importance of such regulations, asserting The Red’s supporters to stay away from Anfield over the coming weeks.
