Alisson Becker returns to Melwood training session after hip injury

The Liverpool FC returned to their training ground Melwood on Wednesday, and goalkeeper Alisson Becker featured among the many players taking part in training sessions. Among the footage released by the Merseyside club, Alisson is seen being put through his paces in a short video.

The Brazilian goalkeeper had not featured for the Reds last three games before the suspension of the current football season due to the player suffering a hip injury

The return of Alisson is a massive boost for Jurgen Klopp and the rest of the Liverpool FC squad ahead of the Premier League’s restart due on 17th June.  The goalkeeper has been in incredible form all season, helping Liverpool sit comfortably at the top of the Premier League table, 25 points adrift of second-placed Manchester City.

The Brazilian has kept ten clean sheets for the club in 20 appearances this season. He even has an assist to his name due to his spectacular kick, which helped set Mohammad Salah’s goal against archrivals Manchester United FC earlier this season.

Alisson was seen taking part in agility sessions on his return to training held at Melwood, with the player also having rigorously worked on his fitness while at home, under the supervision of the Reds goalkeeping coach John Achterberg and the club’s rehabilitation staff through virtual meetings. Moreover, the player has also been believed to call upon the services of a personal trainer to aid his recovery faster.

The goalkeeper seems to have returned to full fitness, with the Liverpool FC squad getting back up to speed ahead of the resumption of the halted Premier League season. There is a robust possibility of Alisson starting the Merseyside derby, which takes place at Goodison Park if all things go well.

The match will be the Red’s first game back with the current Premier League seasons restart. The return of Alisson is vital for The Reds, who are ensuring to grab the required two wins to secure the Premier League title.
