Mo Salah and Andy Robertson ready to face Everton on June 21

The Reds have received a major boost ahead of their Premier League clash with arch-rivals Everton FC with news that key players Mohammad Salah and Andy Robertson have passed the fitness test and could take part in Liverpool FC’s upcoming fixture.

The duo was not a part of the Reds squad that played a game against Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers which was a behind-closed-doors friendly fixture held at Anfield. The game was played with the motive of providing much needed match fitness to players on both sides due to the playing activities of the players being restricted for three months since the Premier League was suspended in March due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both Salah and Robertson were rested for the game against Blackburn Rovers as a precaution, Reds officials explained. However, both the players took part in training sessions held at their respective homes. Moreover, Reds supporters eased their worries when Salah and Robertson took to the football pitch and got some minutes under their belt in the intra-squad friendly held recently, again at Anfield.

The upcoming fixture against Everton FC on 21st June is extremely crucial for the Reds, who can secure the Premier League title if they win the match against the Toffees, and second-placed Manchester City FC lose to Arsenal on 17th June.

The league title is certainly Liverpool FC’s, provided that they secure just six points out of their remaining nine fixtures in the Premier League. The 2019-20 season has seen Jurgen Klopp’s side demolish all the opponents in the Premier League, becoming the first side in history to defeat all the other 19 teams in the competition.

Salah and Robertson’s availability would be a piece of great news for Klopp and the Reds faithful due to the importance of both the players to the first-team squad of the Reds. Salah’s flamboyance on the right flank has made him a fan-favourite among the Liverpool FC supporters and he would be looking to add to his current season’s goal tally when he faces Everton FC on 21st June.

Similarly, Roberton’s presence on the pitch in the upcoming Merseyside Derby cant be emphasised any more, with the Scot’s attacking runs down the left-wing and his pinpoint crossing a danger to any opposing team.
