Jurgen Klopp voices praise for Reds target Jadon Sancho

Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp has indicated his interest in signing Jadon Sancho by stating that the young attacker would look ‘very good’ in the Reds shirt. However, the German admitted to the possibility that Sancho may not move to the Merseyside club this summer.

Klopp has been known to be a huge admirer of the 20-year old English international. Sancho has been on red-hot form for Borussia Dortmund this season in the Bundesliga. He has been involved in 17 goals and an equal number of assists for Dortmund in the current campaign.

Sancho’s signature has also been perused by the likes of Manchester United FC and Chelsea FC. Both Premier League giants have contacted Dortmund over their star player’s availability in the summer. However, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s persistence on signing Sancho, a breakthrough has not been achieved in negotiations yet.

Despite Klopp wanting to bring Sancho to Anfield, there are several obstacles in concluding a transfer for the winger. Firstly, the price-tag put on the player’s head by Dortmund will greatly trouble the Reds in perusing Sancho’s signature. The Bundesliga side are believed to be wanting £100 million for the English international.

Liverpool FC had earlier pulled out of the race to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner over concerns of paying the German international’s release clause worth £50 million. Werner eventually made the move to Stamford Bridge and would lineup as a Chelsea FC player next season.

Klopp has cited the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Liverpool FC’s income as a problem of perusing the transfers of highly-rated players in the market. The Reds are not expected to make any major signings in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Klopp would be looking at his existing options at Liverpool FC to bolster the attacking options of the newly crowned Premier League champions. Rhian Brewster has been touted for a huge future in the Reds shirt due to the English U 19’s huge potential. The striker is currently on loan at Championship outfit Swansea City, where he has impressed the Liverpool FC coaches with his performances.
