Liverpool FC are sought to have declared interest in signing 17-year old German attacker Nick Breitenbucher who plays for Hoffenheim. The starlet has also been shortlisted by Chelsea FC who are interested in securing the winger’s transfer.

Jurgen Klopp is looking forward to signing young talented players for his Liverpool FC side in the summer transfer window. Klopp missed out on Timo Werner’s signing after being priced out of a deal for the German international. Werner has since then agreed upon a move to fellow Premier League side Chelsea FC and will soon join his new teammates in London.

It seems as if the Reds and Chelsea FC will go head-to-head once again over signing Breitenbucher from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim. Although Klopp has ruled out any major signings in the summer for Liverpool FC, investing in the youth could is a step that could be taken by the German coach. The Reds have considerable young talent amongst their ranks and Breitenbucher could be added to the squad depth.

Breitenbucher’s current deal with Hoffenheim runs only until 2022. With only two years remaining on their youth product’s contract, Hoffenheim may be open to cashing in on the player. The 17-year old German has been unable to break into Hoffenheim’s first-team squad despite his good performances at the youth level.

The Hoffenheim starlet’s style of play has been compared to Bundesliga icon Arjen Robben. Similar to the former Dutch international’s technique of cutting inside, Breitenbucher has also employed the manner of play in his game.

Breitenbucher has scored 13 goals in the youth Bundesliga this season and has been in fine form throughout the campaign. He has been touted for a bright future by his coaches and teammates alike.

Liverpool FC has in the past swooped up youth prospects from other sides and developed them into better players. Jurgen Klopp has given ample first-team opportunities to the Reds youngsters to display their worth towards the Liverpool FC squad.

The Reds had signed Harvey Elliot last summer after the talented winger’s contract ran out with Championship outfit Fulham. Similarly, Dutch center-back Sepp van den Berg had been signed by Klopp from Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle in 2018. Since then, the 18-year old defender has been in remarkable form for the Liverpool FC U-23’s.
