Recent reports suggest that Liverpool FC have been successful in reaching over a general agreement with Bayern Munich over the transfer of Thiago Alcântara. The Spaniard has been constantly linked with a move to Anfield since the past two weeks.
With a general agreement said to have been finalized upon the two sides, only the price to be paid for the Bayern midfielder is still not clear. Initial reports had indicated that the Bundesliga champions valued Thiago at around £30 million.
However, the Reds are not keen on paying the stipulated amount in one single go. Instead, the Premier League champions are willing to pay Bayern in subsequent installments in exchange for their star player.
Thiago joining Liverpool FC became a strong possibility when it was revealed that the 29-year old was not keen on extending his stay at Bayern Munich. Moreover, the Bavarians coach Hansi Flick himself stated that the Spaniard has asked for a move away from the Allianz Arena.

Signing Thiago could add to the already impressive roster of midfielder’s at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal at the Merseyside club. The Spanish international has been a massive creative influence at Bayern since signing for them in 2013. The past few years have seen the 29-year old become an important part of the Spain national team as well.
