Transfer Boost – Bayern Munich reduced their asking price for Liverpool Target

Liverpool FC might have received a major boost in their reported pursuit for Thiago Alcantara with Bayern Munich set to have reduced their asking price for the Spaniard to £25 million. The Bundesliga giants were initially demanding a sum of £36 million for the 29-year old midfielder.

The Reds have established concrete interest in securing a deal for the Spanish international this summer. Reports linking Thiago with a move to Anfield emerged when the player’s contract renewal talks with Bayern Munich hit a stumbling block. The 29-year old soon demanded a move elsewhere ahead of next season’s start.

Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has publicly voiced his desire of wanting Thiago to extend his stay at the club. However, the German coach did admit to Thiago’s inclination towards playing in another country next season. The 29-year old Thiago is believed to have been wanting a change of playing environment for quite some time.

With just a year remaining on the midfielder’s current deal with Bayern, the German club may end up losing their star player for free next summer. To avoid such a situation, the Bundesliga champions have indicated their longing to sanction Thiago’s sale this summer.

£25 million may prove to be feasible enough for Liverpool FC to make a solid approach for the Spaniard. The player himself is extremely keen on securing a move to England, with Anfield believed to be his preferred destination. Thiago is known to be a huge admirer of Jurgen Klopp and would relish the possibility of playing under him at the Merseyside club.

Earlier reports from Germany had stated that the Bayern star had even sold his house in the country. Such a move indicated Thiago’s strong impulse of leaving Bayern Munich this summer for a move elsewhere. Liverpool FC, moreover, remains in pole position to seal a move for the 29-year old despite pricing concerns.

However, besides the Reds, Manchester City and Manchester United also remain in contention to sign Thiago this summer.
