Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp has signed a personal endorsement deal with Adidas in what comes as a surprise announcement to many. The German coach joins a select group of football managers to be associated with a brand like Adidas on a personal level.
However, news of Klopp signing on to the German clothing corporation comes amid his side Liverpool FC tying up with Nike from next season onwards. The Reds’ long-term association with New Balance came to an end this season. It had been confirmed earlier that Liverpool FC will sign a lucrative kit deal with Nike that will come into effect from the 2020-21 season.
Prior to his soon-to-be endorsement of Adidas, Klopp wore New Balance footwear in his official capacity as the Liverpool FC manager. However, now the former Dortmund boss would be seen sporting Adidas cleats.
Despite his tie-up with Adidas, Klopp will still don the coaching attire provided by Liverpool FC’s new kit sponsor Nike. The deal signed by the Reds with the American clothing supplier is set to bring in a reported $39.5 million per year for the 2019-20 Premier League champions.
