Former Liverpool FC striker Emile Heskey has urged the club’s key talisman, Mohammad Salah, to shun interest from other sides and extend his stay at Anfield. There have been recent murmurs regarding a possible exit for Salah from the Merseyside club this summer.
Heskey voiced his hope of the 28-year old Salah staying put at Liverpool FC, where the Egyptian winger has become a world-class talent since his arrival from AS Roma back in 2017. According to the ex-England forward, Salah’s aim should be to win more trophies with the Reds in the coming years.
“In my point of view, he [Salah] should stay at Liverpool. If they don’t win the league, I would have said that he should move to another place where he could win the title.
Heskey, who turned out in more than 150 games for Liverpool FC, stated that Salah had won all major laurels during his stint at Anfield. However, the Egyptian international should face the challenge of striving for further success on the pitch.
“But now that he won the league, he must continue and try to win it again and again. Salah won all the titles with Liverpool but the challenge is to continue and try to win them again,” he added.
The 28-year old winger was the Reds’ top goalscorer in the recently concluded Premier League title-winning campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Salah found the back of the net 19 times this season, three more than his teammate Sadio Mane.
