Liverpool FC ace Virgil van Dijk has taken to social media congratulate his fellow Dutch international Nathan Ake ahead of the latter’s move to Manchester City. The 25-year old Ake signed for Pep Guardiola’s side in a £41 million move from the now-relegated AFC Bournemouth.
The 29-year old Reds’ anchorman replied on Ake’s tweet which depicted the latter in his new club’s shirt.
Happy for you bro! 👊🏽

Both Van Dijk and Ake are major components of the Dutch national setup headed by FC Barcelona legend Ronald Koeman. Despite Ake not being a guaranteed starter in the national squad, the center-back is tipped for a bright future at both club and country level considering his ability as a ball-playing defender.
Signing Ake in this summer transfer window seems to be a significant step taken by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola. The Citizen’s defense was often subject to criticism last season and was considered a primary reason behind the Manchester-based outfit losing out on the Premier League title to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
With the 25-year old Ake now being amongst their ranks, Manchester City’s defensive options will be immensely bolstered. The center-back has been a great servant for AFC Bournemouth since his move to the Cherries from Chelsea back in 2017.
A partnership between Ake and Aymeric Laporte at the back for Pep Guardiola’s side could be a threatening combination for opposition sides, especially Liverpool FC who will aim to defend their Premier League crown come next season.
