Jurgen Klopp deservedly earned his place among the other three nominees competing for the Premier League’s Manager of the Season award. The Merseyside Reds’ manager has enjoyed a standout season in charge of the Anfield giants, guiding the club to their first league title after a gap of 30 years.
Klopp’s side finished their 2019-20 league title-winning campaign with 99 points, a new club record set in the process. The Reds also clinched the Premier League crown faster than any other team in the Premier League era, with seven games still remaining for the Merseyside club.
The 53-year old German coach was also awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month award a record five times this season. Klopp certainly has proven his credentials to be adjudged the Manager of the Season through his immense work put into making Liverpool FC the Champions of England once again.
Last month had seen the Reds’ boss being honored with the League Managers Association’s Manager of the Year prize. The German has certainly been on the receiving end of many decorations of late, having been on the pinnacle of world football with his side over the past couple of seasons.
Former Liverpool FC boss Brendan Rodgers, now the coach of Leicester City, has also been nominated alongside Klopp for the prestigious managerial honor. Sheffield United’s Chris Wilder and the Blues coach Frank Lampard are also in the running for the accolade.
