Liverpool set to award youngster Neco Williams with new long-term deal

Recent reports have suggested that Liverpool FC are set to table a new five-year deal for breakout star Neco Williams. The 19-year old full-back has been impressive for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the limited first-team opportunities that have come his way this season.

Williams had filled in sporadically for the brilliant Trent Alexander Arnold at right-back and even played an odd game on the left side of the defense, covering for the highly-rated Andy Robertson. Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp is believed to have the utmost faith in the youngster to deputize for Arnold come next season.

The 19-year old Welshman clocked a total of 229 minutes on the pitch in the six games he played in the Premier League this season. The playing time awarded to him by Klopp were enough for Williams to be a recipient of the Premier League winners medal alongside fellow Liverpool FC youth academy graduate Curtis Jones.

Upon penning the new deal offered by the 2019-20 Premier League champions, William’s stay at Anfield would be extended till 2025. The full-back, along with starlets Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones, forms a trio of highly-talented youngsters tipped for a huge future ahead in the Liverpool FC colors.

According to reports, William’s new five-year contract extension would enable the 19-year old to earn a major wage increase. The Welshman has proven his worth to Jurgen Klopp’s side over the past couple of months and the German coach is eager on seeing a similar kind of form from Williams next season as well.
