Divock Origi wanted by Serie A giants this summer

According to reports, Serie A side Lazio are considering making a move for Liverpool FC striker Divock Origi. The Belgian international, who has achieved cult status among the Reds fanbase, has been on the fringes of the first-team squad over the past two seasons.

Origi’s involvement for Jurgen Klopp’s side has been largely limited to appearances off the bench in recent times. The presence of Roberto Firmino as the Merseyside club’s first-choice striker has led to Origi serving in a backup role for Liverpool FC. The former Lille man has been awarded significant playing minutes in domestic cup ties by Klopp.

The 25-year old had previously voiced his intention of staying at Anfield beyond the 2019-20 season. Sources close to the club confirm Origi’s intention of playing in the Liverpool FC shirt next season. He is believed to be unaffected by his lack of regularity in Klopp’s starting XI come next season.

However, with Liverpool FC seeking €30 million for Origi, Lazio might be in two minds to pursue the forward’s signing. The Italian side are rumoured to be wanting to shore up their attacking options ahead of next season. Simone Inzaghi’s had enjoyed a spectacular 2019-20 league campaign and ensured Champions League football for next season.

Featuring in 28 Premier League games this season for the Reds, Origi scored four goals and provided a sole assist. The 25-year old, however, is a valuable option for Jurgen Klopp coming off the bench with his knack of finding the back of the net at crucial intervals of the game.
