Manchester City star Bernardo Silva sparked a war of words with Liverpool FC fans on Twitter following City’s exit from the UEFA Champions League after a 3-1 defeat to Lyon in the competition’s quarter-finals.
And to all Liverpool fans that have nothing else to do than to come to a Man City player account, I’m also sorry for you but for the wrong reasons…😂 pathetic… go celebrate your titles, or try to find a partner, drink a beer with a friend, read a book…🤦🏻♂️ so many options!😅

The Portuguese international hit back at the Liverpool FC supporters after claims that the 26-year old had been on the receiving end of abusive messages. Furthermore, Silva branded the Reds fanbase on Twitter as “pathetic” and wrote a lengthy tweet suggesting that the Liverpool FC fans do something productive instead of trolling him on the social media platform.
After Pep Guardiola’s men had crashed out of the elite European club competition, the Reds fanbase on Twitter wasted no time in mocking their arch-rivals. Moreover, the fans of the Anfield giants rejoiced in the fact that the 2019-20 season turned out to trophyless for Manchester City.
On the other hand, Liverpool FC clinched the Premier League title, dethroning the Cityzens in the process. Also, Jurgen Klopp’s side had tasted Champions League glory last year, a trophy that has never been won by Manchester City in the club’s history.
The 26-year old Silva had also caught the ire of the ardent Reds fanbase when he had not applauded during the guard of honor being given to the Liverpool FC side that visited the Etihad Stadium last month. And it seems as if the Liverpool FC supporters are in no mood to forget the disrespect they believe the Manchester City man showed towards their club by bringing up the issue once again after Silva’s exit from the Champions League on Sunday.
You sang about our fans being beaten, you refused to respect the guard of honour and you’ve been cocky on social media from day 1. Don’t talk the talk if you can’t walk the walk. Cry more 👍🏼
