Yasser Larouci heading closer to Liverpool exit

Promising Reds left-back Yasser Larouci is set to seal an Anfield exit this summer, according to reports. A number of Championship sides are rumored to be in the fray to sign the 19-year old full-back following his Liverpool FC departure.

Brentford, on the back of a strong showing in the 2019-20 Championship season, are being considered the frontrunners to secure the teenage defender’s signing.

It had been speculated for a long time whether Larouci would extend his stay at the Premier League champions with just a year remaining on his current deal with the Merseyside club.

Moreover, the Reds had recently dipped into the transfer market to sign Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas, the club’s first signing of this summer’s transfer window. Tsimikas arrives at the Anfield outfit to provide cover for Andy Robertson.

With the former Olympiakos man’s signing, Larouci fell further down the pecking order at Liverpool FC. The 19-year old has not been one of the youth players at Anfield that Jurgen Klopp has entrusted with a spot in the club’s senior squad.

Larouci made his first-team debut for the Reds only this year, with the Algerian full-back coming on for James Milner in a FA Cup fixture against Everton in January.
