Serie A outfit Lazio have weighed up the possibility of making a move for out-of-favor Liverpool FC forward Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.
The Swiss international managed to feature in just six league fixtures last season for Jurgen Klopp’s side across their Premier League title-winning campaign.
Shaqiri endured a rather indifferent second year at the Anfield out since his move from Stoke City in 2018. There had been a great deal of uncertainty concerning the 28-year old’s future as a Liverpool FC player beyond this summer’s transfer window.
However, the ex-Bayern Munich attacker had insisted that he was ready to give his all for the Reds in the upcoming 2020-21 season. Shaqiri hinted his desire of fighting for a spot in Klopp’s starting XI after last season’s personal disappointment.
However, Lazio entering the fray to make a move for the Reds attacker comes on the back of the Italian side missing out on signing former Manchester City playmaker David Silva. The 34-year old Spaniard chose to join La Liga club Real Sociedad after being heavily tipped to make the move to Rome.
