Harry Wilson’s £20 million valuation is being refused to be lowered by Liverpool FC, despite a number of sides reported to be in the chase to sign the Welsh international this summer.
The 23-year old winger is widely tipped to be cashed in by the Premier League champions ahead of the 2020-21 season. Wilson, who had spent the entirety of last season on loan at AFC Bournemouth, is seen as a fringe player by Jurgen Klopp, hence the Merseyside club would be better off pocketing a sizable transfer fee upon selling him.
Aston Villa are being considered the favourites to land Wilson’s signing before the transfer window comes to a close in the first week of October. Besides Dean Smith’s outfit, Southampton and Leeds United also remain in the fray to make a move for the 23-year old.
However, the Reds’ refusal to budge on their asking price for Wilson means that the Anfield giants will be happy to retain the player at the club beyond this summer if the £20 million valuation is not met by the interested parties.
With the Welshman’s deal with Liverpool FC running for a further three years, Jurgen Klopp is understood not to be open to sanctioning the player’s move away from the club on the cheap.
