Italian club AC Milan is currently worried that their club talisman Suso could probably return to Liverpool in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Ever since joining AC Milan back in 2015, Spanish superstar Suso has been a revelation for the club. And the 24-year-old has only gone from strength to strength with stellar displays over the course of every season. And it seems like the winger is prepared for another high-quality season after a brilliant opening to the new campaign.
Suso has already notched up three goals and seven assists for the Rossoneri this term which has helped Gennaro Gattuso’s AC Milan move up to fifth place in the Serie A. A spectacular goal from Suso helped overcome Sampdoria on Sunday in the league and these impressive performances are keenly observed by his former suitors Liverpool.
Premier League giants Liverpool are currently second in the English league table and are going toe to toe with champions Manchester City in this season to challenge for the League title. But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is aware that he needs to bolster his attack even further if he is to compete with Pep Guardiola’s steamrolling Manchester City.
Having failed to sign French playmaker Nabil Fekir in the summer transfer window, Klopp and Liverpool are still interested in bringing a midfielder who can create goals for their goalscoring forwards. Suso fits the bill as well and has been linked with a return to Anfield more likely now with his release clause very cheap in ratio to his performances.
Suso’s current deal with AC Milan runs out in the summer of 2022 and the Spaniard could leave the San Siro for a fee of €40 million in January. Milan is keen to offer Suso a contract extension who is still reportedly happy at the club at the moment but are still sweating over his contract extension.
