Former Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has admitted that the Reds have a great chance of winning the Premier League title this season under Jurgen Klopp.
The Hungarian keeper was one of the former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers signings at Anfield as he arrived back in the summer of 2015. But Bogdan failed to prove to the Merseyside giants that he was a worthy keeper as Liverpool dropped down from second place to sixth in just a matter of 12 months.
But following the appointment of Jurgen Klopp, Bogdan was sent out on loan to Wigan Athletic and Hibernian as the German boss guided Liverpool to success in the Champions League last term. Liverpool recorded their best-ever Premier League campaign since the club was formed back in 1892 as the Reds accumulated a staggering 97 points but still fell short of winning the title as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City pipped Liverpool by just one solitary point.
However, Liverpool is sitting at the summit of the Premier League table this season and are the only club with a 100 percent win record after just four games. But the 31-year-old Bogdan believes that Liverpool is set to rival Manchester City once again for the title.
While speaking to Liverpool Echo, Bogdan said that Liverpool has a great chance of winning the Premiership this campaign, “I think they have a massive chance again. Normally we should be talking about them having won it with the points they got last season. It should have been a title-winning season and a Champions League win. The team has stayed the same and never lost strength. With the players up front and in midfield, you know the system is working and it’s been working for a good number of years now. I think they have a very good chance to win it. I hope they do it. If they keep this pressure on teams, as Liverpool does, eventually teams crack. Manchester City will lose points. If they keep doing what they’re doing and what they’re good at, I think the future is bright. I hope that it will happen.”
