Adam Lallana Told To Move Away From Liverpool

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has urged Liverpool outcast Adam Lallana to make a move away from Anfield in the January transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is currently sitting pretty at the summit of the Premier League table and are the only club in England’s top-flight that still have their 100 percent win record intact. The Reds lifted the Champions League trophy in the summer and that was followed by the UEFA Super Cup.

Things are going extremely well for Liverpool at the moment but there is one player that is lacking regular football. Not too long ago, Adam Lallana was the first player in Jurgen Klopp’s team sheet but the Englishman has fallen further down the pecking order after Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino have become an integral part to Liverpool’s attack.

Lallana has a lot of competition for a starting berth as Liverpool also recruited Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and even Xherdan Shaqiri over the recent past pushing the 31-year old away from regular football.

The future for Lallana looks bleak at Liverpool unless they suffer some major injury worries but the former Southampton man has been given a way out by Martin Keown.

While speaking to talkSPORT, the 53-year-old former Arsenal defender said, “Is it that time now? Can he get back in the team? Has he fallen behind in the pecking order even at his own football club? The difficulties of how you suffer psychologically, how difficult it is when you’ve been out for such a long time, feeling a bit unloved, where your role and can he fit into this Liverpool team. ‘If he can’t get into this Liverpool team then he can’t even be thinking about the international team. He may have to move on to pastures new, Lallana if he doesn’t get into that team within the next four or five months.”
